Completed this mission yesterday after the previous reviewer gave me hope that it would be ok! (Gave a few other nice looking ones a miss because I was scared my lack of Japanese would be an issue...)

Anyway, I can confirm that this is perfectly possible to do in about 3-3.5 hours without any Japanese knowledge - the passphrases at the start of each mission are all multiple choice where you have to type in 1, 2 or 3, so it’s no big deal if you get it wrong the first time (Hint - start from 1 as that’s usually right and the answer is actually never 3 :D)

The picture is lovely and it’s worth doing for that. The route, however will drive you insane - round and round and round in little circles and spirals, gradually getting further along the main road by going up and down the same side streets and turning a slightly different corner each time.

Anyway, you’ll see a couple of sights but the main draw here is the picture. And it’s not hard to do, but it is strange and frustrating.

I walked this, it took me ~3.5 hours. The routing is not intuitive - the map for mission starts shows a pretty straight east to west line, but you'll be doing more of a snake pattern. HIGHLY recommend looking at the map for each individual mission - the last portal is always where you want to be at the end. The route does start to get more straightforward at the end.

Passphrases are in Japanese but are multiple choice, 1-3.

I would strongly recommend biking. The distances do start to add up and eventually you're going 150m between each point. Area is very bikable too! There aren't dedicated bike paths, but the culture of biking is very strong. All ages of people biking everywhere.
